About Lennon and Maisy

╰☆╮Lennon Ray Stella (born August 13, 1999) and Maisy Jude Stella (born December 13, 2003) are young actresses/musicians that became overnight internet sensations after posting their rendition of Erato’s “butter pan” cover of Robyn’s “Call Your Girlfriend” on their YouTube channel.

The first cover posted on the lennonandmaisy channel was put up on February 2nd, 2010 and featured Lennon singing her version of John Lennon’s “Imagine”, accompanied by her playing on the piano. The next video featured a five year-old Maisy singing “Jingle Bells”, and playing the ukulele. Since then they have uploaded several videos, either with one of the sisters singing individually or together. They’ve created original songs, and performed live on numerous occasions, in locations such as Bluebird Café, the Theatre of Living Arts, and more. The girls are also actresses, with Maisy appearing in music videos by Steel Magnolia and Margaret Durante, as well as advertisements.

The “Call Your Girlfriend” cover was posted on May 29, 2012, and has so far generated over 7,250,000+ views.

Lennon and Maisy’s parents (Brad Stella and Marylynne Stella) are also musical, forming duo The Stellas, who came in fourth place on CMT’s Can You Duet? in 2009, and released their first album in 2011. Lennon and Maisy grew up without things like television and internet in their household, and this may have influenced their dedication and time spent to music. The family is originally from Claremont, Ontario, but now reside in Nashville, Tennessee. Their new-found fame continues to skyrocket, and they have appeared on news programs such as Global Toronto and Good Morning America, have been noticed by celebrities such as Sara Barielles, Amy Poehler, and Imogen Heap, and have generated over 23,180+ Twitter followers.

The girls have signed on to sing and act in the upcoming ABC series Nashville (premiering October 12)as Maddie and Daphne Conrad. Lennon and Maisy currently plan on recording one song, but no albums are in the works.
